No Tickets, No Reserved Seats, Free Parking

Commencement is free and open to the public. There are no tickets and no reserved seats. Parking is free.

Live and Recorded Commencement Broadcasts

All Commencement ceremonies are broadcast live via streaming video at broadcast.iu.edu. In addition, videos of past Commencement ceremonies are archived on the site.

Welcome

Welcome to Indiana University Bloomington's Commencement website. IU Bloomington holds Commencement exercises in May and December. There is no summer ceremony.

May Commencement

May Commencement, also called Spring Commencement, takes place in three sessions in Assembly Hall. In 2012, the Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 4, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

On Saturday, May 5, the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held in two sessions, one from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and one from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (schools are assigned to one or the other).

December Commencement

December Commencement, also called Winter Commencement, will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Assembly Hall. There is a single ceremony. Students who complete requirements between September and December are eligible to participate in Winter Commencement.
